Analysis: Right to Food in context of Devolution – 2

About Project

APSID was contracted by ICCO Cooperation under the Civic Engagement Alliance umbrella to conduct an analysis on the status of the realization of the Human Right to Food in five counties of western Kenya. The counties included Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, Kisumu and Homabay. The project was conducted in November 2020 over a period of one month. 

The analysis involve extensive data collection using key informant interviews and focus group discussions with members of communities engaged in the project. The outputs included an inception report, data files from the data collection process including meeting notes and recordings, final report, policy brief, blog article and an opinion article in a leading news paper. APSID also presented the report which was launched in December 2020. 

Outcome

The APSID team, including two lead consultants and 8 research assistants on the project delivered the project within the required timeframe. The full report “Devolution and the Right to Food, Opportunities and Barriers” was published and widely shared by ICCO Cooperation and the other project partners.
